Reed Valve

  1. Disconnect vacuum hose from diaphragm and connect vacuum pump to diaphragm. Disconnect inlet and outlet hoses.
  2. Apply 7.9 in. Hg to diaphragm. Blow air into inlet pipe. Air should flow from outlet pipe.
  3. Connect inlet and outlet hoses. Start engine. With 7.9 in. Hg still applied to diaphragm, check for bubbling sound from reed valve. Replace reed valve if not performing as specified.
