Preliminary Inspection
Verify customer complaint by operating system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Inspect for blown fuses and damaged relays. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, and damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If fault is found, repair as necessary.
- If window moves slowly, verify battery is fully charged, and ground G200 is clean and tight. Also check for mechanical binding or non-greased pivot joints.
- If switches do not illuminate when Park Lamps are turned on, see appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- If the Express Down feature does not work, but window moves down with each switch depression, replace the left window switch. See SYSTEM TESTS .
