Code A013, Abs Warning Light Circuit Shorted To Battery: Notes
Light driver module turns on ABS warning light unless Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) provides a ground circuit to turn it off. Because of light driver module internal circuitry, only external faults can be detected. ABS warning light itself cannot be diagnosed, only control line to EBCM can be diagnosed. If circuit No. 1290 (Dark Blue wire) becomes shorted to battery voltage or EBCM control circuit is open, EBCM will be unable to turn off ABS warning light.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks if ABS warning light is functioning properly. Normal operation would indicate no problem is present.
- After ignition is turned off, voltage to light driver module should be interrupted. If ABS warning light remains on, a short to battery voltage exists in circuit.
- After removing 7.5-amp GAUGES fuse, voltage on circuit No. 1290 (Dark Blue wire) should be eliminated. If voltage is still present, there is a short to battery voltage between light driver module and EBCM.
