Code A014, Enable Relay Contacts Or Fuse Open: Notes

Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. 5 of enable relay. EBCM energizes enable relay pull-in coil by completing ground circuit at EBCM terminal No. 22. The magnetic field created will close enable relay contacts to supply battery voltage to EBCM, providing power to motors and solenoids.

This code monitors availability of voltage and current to motors and solenoids. Code A014 indicates voltage is not available, and ABS operation is not possible.

1. Determines whether enable relay and circuit are functional by checking if EBCM is sensing battery voltage through terminal "A" of enable relay contacts.
2. Checks for battery voltage at enable relay terminals No. 4 and 5.
3. Checks for continuity in enable relay pull-in coil.
4. Checks ability of EBCM to energize enable relay. An open circuit in EBCM or circuit No. 879 (Purple/White wire) would prevent enable relay from being energized.
5. Checks for open in circuit No. 850 (Red/White wire) between enable relay and EBCM.
