Code A088, Red Brake Warning Light Circuit Shorted To Battery: Notes

This code isolates a short to battery voltage between EBCM and Red BRAKE warning light or an open driver circuit that does not allow warning light to be illuminated by EBCM. This will only occur if an ABS failure is detected which may degrade base brake operation.

1. Identifies if ground circuit to Red BRAKE warning light is being completed by a source other than EBCM.
2. Determines if fault is still present.
3. By removing 7.5-amp GAUGES fuse, voltage source is eliminated. This test indicates if voltage is being supplied from a source other than GAUGES fuse.
