Chart No. 6, DTC 8

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect BCM 32-pin connector C2. Disconnect Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) connector. RCDLR is located behind center of instrument panel, near windshield defrost vent. Using DVOM, check voltage between RCDLR harness connector terminal "E" (Black/White wire) and battery. If any voltage exists, go to next step. If no voltage exists, go to step 3).
  2. Repair short to ground in Black/White wire between BCM connector C2 and RCDLR. Recheck system operation.
  3. Check voltage between RCDLR harness connector terminal "E" (Black/White wire) and ground. If any voltage exists, go to next step. If no voltage exists, go to step 5).
  4. Repair short to voltage in Black/White wire between BCM connector C2 and RCDLR. Recheck system operation.
  5. Using DVOM, check continuity of Black/White wire between BCM harness connector C2 terminal C8 and RCDLR harness connector terminal "E". If continuity exists, go to next step. If no continuity exists, go to step 7).
  6. Reconnect BCM connector C2. Reconnect RCDLR connector. Enter diagnostics. See ENTERING DIAGNOSTICS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Press any button on RKE transmitter. If a chime is heard each time button is pressed, go to step 8). If a chime is not heard each time button is pressed, go to step 9).
  7. Repair poor connection or open in Black/White wire between BCM connector C2 and RCDLR. Recheck system operation.
  8. Replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Recheck system operation.
  9. Replace RCDLR. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Recheck system operation.
