Rear Quarter Windows Inoperative

  1. Disconnect interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 (located at center, front of headliner). Connect test light between ground and interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 terminal "E" (Brown wire). See Fig 1. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair poor connection or open in Brown wire between interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 and instrument panel fuse block.
  2. Connect test light between interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 terminals "B" (Black wire) and "E" (Brown wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair poor connection or open in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 and ground.
  3. Connect test light between ground and interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 terminal "C" (Black wire). See Fig 1. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, repair short to voltage in Black or Brown wire between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor.
  4. Check for continuity between ground and Black or Brown wires between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor. If continuity to ground is not present, go to next step. If continuity to ground is present, repair short to ground in Black or Brown wires.
  5. Check for continuity in Black and Brown wires between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair poor connection or open in Black or Brown wires between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window.
  6. Connect test light between ground and interior light/multifunction switch Blue 8-pin connector C4 terminal "D" (Black wire). See Fig 1. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, repair short to voltage in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor.
  7. Check for continuity between ground and Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor. If continuity to ground is not present, go to next step. If continuity to ground is present, repair short to ground in Black wire.
  8. Check for continuity in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window motor. If continuity is present, check for poor connection at interior light and multifunction switch. If connection is okay, replace interior light and multifunction switch. If continuity is not present, repair poor connection or open in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch and appropriate rear quarter window.
