DTC B1000: Body Control Module Internal Fault: Testing

- If body control module diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If body control module diagnostic system check has not been performed, see BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTCS function on scan tool for BCM. If DTC B1000 is set as a current DTC, go to next step. If DTC B1000 is not set as a current DTC, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Replace BCM. Program BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTC. Operate vehicle under same conditions when DTC was first set. Retrieve DTCs. See RETRIEVING BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC resets, go to step 2.
