Body Control Module System Diagnostic System Check

  1. Retrieve and display DTCs by entering Body Control Module (BCM) using SECURITY indicator diagnostic mode. See RETRIEVING BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . If diagnostic mode is entered and DTCs are retrieved, go to next step. If diagnostic mode cannot be entered, perform TEST C: CANNOT ENTER BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTICS  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. If both DTCs 12 and 55 are retrieved, go to next step. If DTCs 12 and 55 are not retrieved, perform TEST C: CANNOT ENTER BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTICS  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. If either DTC 25 or 35 are retrieved, go to next step. If both DTCs 25 and 35 are retrieved, go to step  5.
  4. If DTC 35 is retrieved with DTC 25, go to next step. If DTC 35 is retrieved without DTC 25, see appropriate ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article.
  5. If any other DTCs are retrieved other than DTC 12, 25/35 and 55, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If no other DTCs are retrieved other than DTC 12, 25/35 and 55, perform appropriate diagnostic system check for malfunctioning system. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
