"W" Body (Intrigue)
- Place gearshift lever in "P" position. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Disconnect BTSI solenoid connector. Using test light, backprobe between BTSI solenoid connector terminal "A"and ground. See Figure. Apply brake pedal. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, replace BTSI solenoid, then go to step 4.
- Leave test light connected between BTSI solenoid connector terminal "A"and ground. Disconnect brakelight switch 4-pin connector C2. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, check brakelight switch adjustment. If brakelight switch adjustment is okay, replace brakelight switch, then go to step 4.
- Check for short to battery power in circuit between brakelight switch 4-pin connector C2 terminal "B" and BTSI solenoid connector terminal "A". See Figure and Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary, then go to next step.
- Ensure all components disconnected or removed during testing are reconnected and installed on vehicle. Ensure BTSI system operates correctly. See SHIFT INTERLOCK SOLENOID under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION. If system does not operate correctly, repeat step 1.
