Power Window System Check

  1. Operate each window up and down from power window master switch. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly without sticking. If any window does not operate as specified, go to TEST B: POWER WINDOW INOPERATIVE - ONE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Momentarily press power window master switch down past first detent. Left front window should continue to full-down position. If left front window does not operate as specified, go to TEST C: POWER WINDOW EXPRESS DOWN INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Operate each window from each individual switch at each door. Each window should operate quietly and smoothly through full range of travel, without sticking. If any window does not operate as specified, diagnose by symptom. See SYSTEM TESTS  .
  4. Press lock-out switch to LOCK position on left front power window switch. Operate each window from its individual switch. Windows should not operate from their individual switches, and windows should only operate from left front power window switch. If any window does not operate as specified, go to TEST D: POWER WINDOW LOCK-OUT FUNCTION INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
