Scan Tool Diagnostics

A scan tool is used to retrieve and clear DTCs. The scan tool also has several features that can be used to help locate an intermittent condition. When scan tool is used for system tests, it will display values actually seen or commanded by various systems (i.e., BCM, PCM, instrument cluster, EBCM or SDM). This will usually include the following types of information:

B1374  Ignition 1 Fault (With Engine Running)
B1379  Ignition 3 Fault
B2532  Front Foglight Relay Output Short To Ground/Open
B2533  Front Foglight Relay Output Short To Battery
B2558  Interior Light Control Output Short To Battery
B2575  (3) ALC Headlight System Fault
B2577  (3) ALC Headlight Relay Output Short To Ground/Open
B2578  (3) ALC Headlight Relay Output Short To Battery
B2585  (3) Parking Light System Fault
B2587  (3) Parking Light Relay Output Short To Ground/Open
B2588  (3) Parking Light Relay Output Short To Battery
B2600  (4) DRL Error
B2602  (4) DRL Relay Output Short To Ground/Open
B2603  (4) DRL Relay Output Short To Battery
B2647  Ambient Light Sensor Short To Ground/Open
B2648  Ambient Light Sensor Short To Battery
B2965  Key-In-Ignition Fault
U1001-U1088:  LOSS OF XXX COMMUNICATIONS
U1300  Class 2 Serial Data Link Low
U1301  Class 2 Serial Data Link High
U2000  Invalid BCM Transmitted SPI Data
U2001  Invalid Instrument Cluster Transmitted SPI Data
U2002  SPI Data Input Low
U2003  SPI Data Input High
U2004  SPI Data Output Low
U2005  SPI Data Output High
U2006  SPI Clock Output Low
U2007  SPI Clock Output High
(1) See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  for test and repair procedures.
(2) For DTCs not listed, repair appropriate system as necessary.
