Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check was not performed, see DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RCDLR. Connect a DVOM between RCDLR connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire) and ground. If voltage is not 4-5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4-5 volts, go to step  6 .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RCDLR. Connect a test light between terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire) and ground. Turn ignition on, engine off. If test light is off, go to next step. If test light is on, go to step  5 .
  4. Check Light Green wire between RCDLR connector terminal No. 2 and BCM for short ground, open or high resistance. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem was found, repair as necessary, and go to step  8 . If problem was not found, go to step  7 .
  5. Check Light Green wire between RCDLR connector terminal No. 2 and BCM for short to power. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem was found, repair as necessary, and go to step  8 . If problem was not found, go to step  7 .
  6. Check RCDLR connector for poor connections. If connector is okay, replace RCDLR. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING  under PROGRAMMING. Go to step  8 .
  7. Check BCM connectors for poor connections. If connectors are okay, replace BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. Go to next step.
  8. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate system to verify repair.
