Test 3: Left Front Window Inoperative

  1. Disconnect left front power window motor connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe left front window motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green wire). Press left front power window switch on power window master switch to DOWN position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Green wire between left front window motor connector terminal No. 2 and power window master switch connector terminal No. 5. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If Green wire is okay, go to step  3 . If Green wire is open, repair as necessary and retest system.
  2. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe left front window motor connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow wire). Press left front power window switch on power window master switch to UP position while observing test light. If test light comes on, go to step  4 . If test light does not come on, check for open in Yellow wire between window motor connector terminal No. 1 and power window master switch connector terminal No. 1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If Yellow wire is okay, go to next step. If Yellow wire is open, repair as necessary and retest system.
  3. Replace power window master switch. See WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Replace left front power window motor. See WINDOW MOTOR/REGULATOR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
