BTSI Control Always On With Ignition On
- Turn ignition on. If gearshift lever can be moved from Park, go to next step. If gearshift lever cannot be moved from Park, check for intermittent problem.
- Disconnect shift lock relay. If BTSI solenoid disengages, go to next step. If BTSI solenoid does not disengage, go to step 6 .
- Check for short to voltage in shift lock relay battery feed circuit (Green/White wire) between brakelight switch and shift lock relay. If circuit is shorted, go to step 5 . If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Replace shift lock relay. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Repair short to voltage in Green/White wire between brakelight switch and shift lock relay. After repairs, go to step 9 .
- Check for short to voltage in BTSI solenoid control circuit (Blue/Green wire) between shift lock relay and BTSI solenoid. If circuit is shorted, go to next step. If circuit is okay, go to step 8 .
- Repair short to voltage in Blue/Green wire between BTSI solenoid and shift lock relay. After repairs, go to next step.
- Replace BTSI solenoid. After repairs, go to next step.
- Check system operation and verify repairs. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If system operates properly, system is okay. If system does not operate properly, repeat step 2 .
