Retained Accessory Power (Rap) Diagnostic System Check

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with radio. If scan tool communicates with radio, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with radio, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. If any loss of communication DTCs exist (any DTC beginning with a "U"), go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE  under SYSTEM TESTS. If no loss of communication DTCs exist, go to next step.
  4. Enter BCM diagnostic mode. See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If BCM enters into diagnostic mode, diagnose by symptoms or BCM DTCs present. If BCM does not enter diagnostic mode, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE INOPERATIVE  under SYSTEM TESTS.
