Retained Accessory Power (Rap)
BCM will de-energize Retained Accessory Power (RAP) battery supply circuit for courtesy lighting after about 9-11 minutes from the time ignition switch is turned to OFF/LOCK position. RAP feature is also mileage-sensitive. When vehicle is driven less than 15 miles, lighting is disabled in 2-3 minutes. BCM restores power to RAP circuits when one of the following actions occur: Ignition switch is turned from OFF/LOCK position to ACC/ON position. Key is removed from ignition switch. Opening any door. Turning instrument panel dimmer switch to DOME position. Interior courtesy lighting or roof rail reading light is turned on. When BCM receives a message from Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) module for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) requests (BCM type 3 or 4) or, when locking or unlocking a door is using a key (BCM type 4).
