Body Control Module Inoperative

  1. Perform diagnostic system check for Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using a DVOM connected to ground, back probe specified terminals of appropriate BCM harness connector. See BCM POWER SUPPLY & GROUND CHECK  table. If any reading is not as specified, locate and repair short to ground, short to voltage or open condition(s) as necessary. If open or shorted condition does not exist, go to next step. After repairs are completed, go to step  5 . If all readings are as specified, go to step  3 .
    BCM POWER SUPPLY & GROUND CHECK

    Connector Terminal (Wire Color) Reading
    BCM Connector C1
    "D" (Black wire) Continuity To Ground
    "G" (Orange wire) Battery Voltage
    "H" (Orange wire) Battery Voltage
    BCM Connector C2
    C10 (Orange/Black wire) Battery Voltage
    C13 (Pink wire) Battery Voltage
    D4 (Yellow wire) Battery Voltage
  3. Inspect related wiring harness connectors for poor connection or poor terminal contact. Inspect wiring harness for damage or signs of an intermittent failure condition. If any poor connection or poor terminal contact faults exist, repair fault(s) as necessary. After repairs, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If vehicle is equipped with factory installed Central Theft Deterrent (CTD) anti-theft system, go to CENTRAL THEFT DETERRENT (CTD) RELEARN  under PROGRAMMING. Program feature customization settings. See ENTER FEATURE CUSTOMIZATION MODE  under PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
  5. Record and clear DTCs present. Perform diagnostic system check for BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Verify any or all repairs are complete.
