Remote Keyless Entry Systems: Operation
When transmitter is activated, transmitter sends a digitally coded signal to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) located under instrument panel upper trim. RCDLR sends a command to Body Control Module (BCM) to carry out desired function. For power sliding door operation, RCDLR sends a direct signal to power sliding door.
There are 4 modes within remote control door lock receiver:
- Alarm
If vehicle is equipped with Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system, a single press of lower left transmitter alarm button will turn on interior lights, intermittently sound horn, and flash parking lights for 110 seconds, or until alarm button is pressed again or ignition is turned on. - Driver Door & All Door Unlock
When UNLOCK is pressed on transmitter, only driver's door unlocks. If UNLOCK is pressed again within 5 seconds, all doors and liftgate will unlock and courtesy lights will illuminate for 40 seconds, or until ignition is turned on. System can be customized to unlock all doors on first activation of UNLOCK on transmitter. - Power Sliding Door
If vehicle is equipped with a power sliding door, transmitter will have a power sliding door button. Power sliding door will only operate with transmitter when override switch on overhead console is on. If sliding door is locked, unlock all doors. Press power sliding door button to open or close power sliding door. - Transmitter Operating Range
Operating range of transmitter is 3-29 feet depending on battery condition and location of other vehicles or objects. During rainy or snowy weather, it may be necessary to stand closer to vehicle for proper transmitter operation.
