Preliminary Inspection
Before performing tests, perform a visual inspection of the following items:
- Inspect RADIO fuse (10-amp) for an open. If fuse is open, check Orange wire for a short to ground between underhood electrical center and Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR).
- Inspect ground located on right side of instrument panel. Ground is attached to underside of cross bar beam, to left of ventilation duct.
- Verify proper operation of power door locks before beginning Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) diagnosis.
- Verify proper operation of power sliding door before beginning Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) diagnosis.
- If power door locks operate from transmitter, but not from power door lock switch, check continuity of door lock switch and wiring for an open or short. Repair or replace components as necessary.
- Each door lock actuator contains an electronic circuit breaker. Resistance in door lock actuator will increase if door lock actuator is overloaded. Resistance will return to normal after voltage is removed from actuator terminals. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside wire insulation which could cause a system malfunction but check okay during a continuity or voltage check.
- Inspect for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect system operation.
