  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "E" (Brown wire). See Fig 1. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  3.
  2. Using a test light, backprobe between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminals "E" (Brown wire) and "B" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to step  4. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  5.
  3. Check PWR QTR VENT (10-amp) fuse located in instrument panel fuse block. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . If fuse is open, go to step  6. If fuse is okay, go to step  7.
  4. Using a test light, backprobe between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminals "C" and "D" (Black wires). Press rear quarter window switch to OPEN and CLOSED positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step  8. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step  9.
  5. Repair poor connection or open in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "B" and ground. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Retest system.
  6. Check for short to ground in Brown wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "E" and PWR QTR VENT fuse terminal in instrument panel fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If short to ground exists, go to step  10. If short to ground does not exist, go to step  11.
  7. Repair open in Brown wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "E" and PWR QTR VENT fuse terminal in instrument panel fuse block. Retest system.
  8. Check for open in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "D" and splice S423. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If Black wire is open, go to step  12. If Black wire is not open, go to step  13.
  9. Replace interior light/multifunction switch. See INTERIOR LIGHT/MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system.
  10. Repair short to ground in Brown wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "E" and PWR QTR VENT fuse terminal in instrument panel fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system.
  11. Check for short to ground in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "D" and splice S423. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If Black wire is shorted to ground, go to step  14. If Black wire is not shorted to ground, go to step  15.
  12. Repair open in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4, terminal "D" and splice S423. Retest system.
  13. Repair open in wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4, terminal "C" and splice S427. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system.
  14. Repair short to ground in Black wire between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "D" and splice S423. Retest system.
  15. Check for short to ground between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "C" (Black wire) and rear quarter window motor connector terminal "B" (Brown wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If short to ground exists, go to next step. If short to ground does not exist, go to step  9.
  16. Repair short to ground between interior light/multifunction switch connector C4 terminal "C" (Black wire) and rear quarter window motor connector terminal "B" (Brown wire). Retest system.
