Circuit Description
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor circuit provides a voltage signal that changes relative to throttle blade angle. Signal voltage will vary from less than one volt at closed throttle to greater than 4 volts at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). When MAP reading is less than 50 kPa, the diagnostic will test for a skewed high TP sensor. When MAP reading is greater than 70 kPa, the diagnostic will test for a skewed low TP sensor. DTC will set if PCM detects an out of range condition. The diagnostic will not run when MAP is between 50-70 kPa.
For duplication of DTC, ensure no active TP sensor or MAP sensor DTCs are present, engine is running, MAP sensor reading is less than 50 kPa or greater than 70 kPa, and predicted throttle angle is not close to actual throttle angle.
