10-Minute Learn Procedure

NOTE: Tools required to perform 10-minute learn procedure are Tech 2 and Techline terminal with current SPS (Service Programming System) software installed. If 10-minute learn procedure cannot be performed, go to 30-MINUTE LEARN PROCEDURE .
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING then REQUEST INFORMATION. Disconnect scan tool from DLC and connect to a Techline terminal.
  2. Using Techline terminal, select SERVICE PROGRAMMING then THEFT MODULE RE-LEARN. Disconnect scan tool from Techline terminal and reconnect to DLC.
  3. Turn ignition on. Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING then VTD RE-LEARN. Attempt to start engine, then rotate key to on position.
  4. Monitor SECURITY indicator. After approximately 10 minutes, SECURITY indicator will turn off. Vehicle is now ready to relearn password on the next ignition switch transition from off to crank.
  5. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Start engine. Vehicle has now learned the password. Using scan tool, clear any DTCs. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.
