Test B: Power Window Inoperative - One
- Check PWR WINDOWS circuit breaker "C" for an open. PWR WINDOWS circuit breaker "C" is located in instrument panel fuse block. See Figure . If PWR WINDOWS circuit breaker is okay, go to next step. If PWR WINDOWS circuit breaker is not okay, go to step 20 .
- Disconnect power window master switch 6-pin harness connector C1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using test light connected to ground, probe power window master switch harness connector C1 terminal "C" (Yellow wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 18 .
- Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe power window master switch harness connector C1 terminal "A" (Black wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 17 .
- If left front power window is inoperative, go to next step. If left rear or right rear power window is inoperative, go to step 6 . If right front power window is inoperative, go to step 10 .
- Reconnect power window master switch. Remove left front door trim panel. Disconnect left front power window motor. While holding left front power window switch in UP position, measure voltage between left front power window motor harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). See Figure . If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 14 . If battery voltage exists, go to step 19 .
- Disconnect appropriate rear power window switch 5-pin harness connector. Using test light connected to ground, probe rear power window switch harness connector terminal "D" (Dark Blue wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 15 .
- Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe rear power window switch harness connector terminal "A" (Purple wire). Probe rear power window switch harness connector terminal "C" (Light Green wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates at both terminals, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to step 9 .
- Reconnect rear power window switch 5-pin harness connector. Remove rear door trim panel. Disconnect rear power window motor 2-pin harness connector. While holding rear power window switch in UP position, measure voltage between rear power window motor harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). See Figure . If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 14 . If battery voltage exists, go to step 19 .
- Check for open in Light Green wire or Purple wire between power window master switch and rear power window switch. See Figure . If open exists in either wire, repair as necessary. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If open does not exist in either wire, go to step 16 .
- Disconnect right front power window switch 8-pin harness connector. Using test light connected to ground, probe right front power window switch harness connector terminal "F" (Dark Blue wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 15 .
- Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe right front power window harness connector terminal "H" (Tan wire). Probe right front power window harness connector terminal "D" (Light Blue wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates at both terminals, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate at either terminal, go to step 13 .
- Reconnect right front power window switch harness connector. Remove right front door trim panel. Disconnect right front power window motor 2-pin harness connector. While holding right front power window switch in UP position, measure voltage between right front power window motor harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). See Figure . If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 14 . If battery voltage exists, go to step 19 .
- Check for open in Light Blue wire or Tan wire between power window master switch and right front power window switch. See Figure . If open exists in either wire, repair as necessary. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If open does not exist in either wire, go to step 16 .
- Check for open in Brown wire or Dark Blue wire between appropriate power window motor and appropriate power window switch. See Figure . If open does not exist in either wire, replace defective power window switch. If open exists in either wire, repair as necessary. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for an open in Dark Blue wire between power window master switch and rear power window switch. See Figure . If open does not exist, go to next step. If open exists, repair as necessary. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Replace power window master switch. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Repair open in Black wire between power window master switch and ground. Ground point is located at left front door sill. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Repair open in Yellow wire between instrument panel fuse block and power window master switch. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Replace appropriate power window motor. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for short to ground in Yellow wire between instrument panel fuse block and power window master switch. If problem does not exist, replace PWR WINDOWS circuit breaker and retest system. Perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If problem exists, repair as necessary. After repair, perform power window system check. See POWER WINDOW SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
