  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Ensure master power window switch lock-out button is not engaged. Verify one or more passenger power widows are suspect. If one or more passenger power windows are suspect, go to next step. If all passenger power windows operate properly, problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES - CARS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  3. If suspect power window operates from master power window switch assembly, go to next step. If suspect power window does not operate from master power window switch, go to step  5 .
  4. Disconnect suspect power window switch 8-pin harness connector. Connect test light to ground and probe suspect power window switch harness connector terminal "D" (Dark Blue wire). See Figure . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  9 . If test light illuminates, go to step  13 .
  5. Disconnect suspect power window switch 8-pin harness connector. Connect test light between window motor up circuit and window motor down circuit at suspect power window switch harness connector. Using master power window switch, press appropriate window switch to up and down positions. If test light illuminates when switch is in UP or DOWN position, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when switch is in UP or DOWN position, go to step  10 .
  6. If test light illuminated when suspect switch was in both up and down positions, go to next step. If test light did not illuminate when suspect switch was in both up and down positions, go to step  11 .
  7. Reconnect suspect power window switch. Disconnect suspect power window motor. Connect test light between power window motor harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). Press window switch to up and down positions. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  12 .
  8. If test light illuminated when suspect power window switch was in up and down positions, go to step  14 . If test light does not illuminate when suspect power window switch was in up and down positions, go to step  16 .
  9. Check for open in Dark Blue wire between suspect power window switch and master power window switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  15 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  10. Check for an open in up and down signal circuits between master power window switch and suspect power window switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  15 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  11. Check for a short to ground in up and down signal circuits between master power window switch and suspect power window switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  15 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  12. Check for an open in up and down control circuits (Dark Blue and Brown wires) between suspect power window switch and power window motor. If problem does not exist, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  13. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at suspect power window switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  18 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  14. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at suspect power window motor. If problem does not exist, go to step  17 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  15. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at master power window switch. If problem does not exist, go to step  19 . If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  20 .
  16. Repair short to ground in appropriate wire between power window switch and power window motor. After repair, go to step  20 .
  17. Replace power window motor. After repair, go to step  20 .
  18. Replace passenger power window switch. After repair, go to step  20 .
  19. Replace master power window switch. After repair, go to next step.
  20. Operate power window system to verify repair. If problem does not exist, system is okay. If problem still exists, go to step  2 .
