Transmitter Programming
Vehicle can be programmed for up to 4 remote transmitters. If number of remote transmitters programmed exceeds 4, previously programmed remote transmitters will be erased, starting with first remote transmitter.
There are 3 modes within Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR):
- Add Mode
Used to add new or additional remote transmitters. - Rewrite Mode
Used to erase all previously programmed remote transmitters. Should be used when installing a new RCDLR. - Confirmation Mode
Used for confirming number of existing remote transmitters programmed to vehicle before adding remote transmitters.
- To enter programming modes, set following conditions:
- Ignition switch in LOCK position and key out of ignition switch.
- All doors closed except driver's side door.
- All doors unlocked.
- Insert ignition key into ignition switch momentarily and remove it.
- Using switch in driver's side door, move switch from LOCK to UNLOCK 5 times at approximately one second intervals within 40 seconds.
- Close driver's side door, and then open it.
- Again, move switch from LOCK to UNLOCK 5 times at approximately one second intervals within 40 seconds.
- Insert ignition key into ignition switch.
- Turn ignition switch from RUN to LOCK position at approximately one second interval for 1-3 times according to desired mode.
- One time for add mode.
- Two times for rewrite mode.
- Three times for confirmation mode.
- Remove ignition key from ignition switch.
- If add or rewrite mode has been selected, doors will lock, then unlock once or twice at one second intervals, once for add mode or twice for rewrite mode.
- If confirmation mode is selected, doors will lock, then unlock 0-4 times at 2 second intervals to inform technician or number of remote transmitters programmed.
- Press a remote transmitter button for 2 seconds. Doors will lock, then unlock once at a one second interval to inform technician that signal has been received from remote transmitter.
- Close driver's side door, then open it.
- Press a remote transmitter button for 2 seconds. Doors will lock, then unlock once at a one second interval to inform technician that signal has been received from remote transmitter.
If any of the following conditions occur during programming, RCDLR will return to normal operation:
- Driver's side door remains closed.
- Twenty seconds elapses with no input to RKE module.
- Ignition key is inserted into ignition switch.
- Four remote transmitters have been programmed at once.
