Test A: All Windows Inoperative
NOTE:
Voltage supply circuit runs through accessory relay and splice SP252. Ground circuit runs through splice SP551. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS
.
- If description and operation have been reviewed, go to next step. If description and operation have not been reviewed, review description and operation. See DESCRIPTION & OPERATION .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate each power window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If power windows do not operate, go to next step. If power windows operate, diagnose intermittent condition. See INTERMITTENTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - PRIZM article.
- If power door locks operate properly, go to next step. If power door locks do not operate properly, go to step 7 .
- Disconnect power window master switch 14-pin harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and power window master switch harness connector terminal No. 10 (Black wire). See Fig 1 . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 6 .
- Inspect left front power window harness connector for loose terminals or corrosion. Diagnose intermittent condition. See INTERMITTENTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - PRIZM article. If problem still exists, go to step 8 . If problem does not exist, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in voltage supply circuit of power window master switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If problem still exists, go to step 8 . If problem does not exist, go to step 9 .
- Repair open in ground circuit of power window master switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair, go to step 9 .
- Replace power window master switch. After repair, go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If problem does not exist, system is okay. If problem still exists, go to step 3 .
