Test C: Right Front Power Window Inoperative

NOTE: To identify harness connectors and terminals, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  1. Review description and operation of power window system, then go to next step. See DESCRIPTION & OPERATION  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check operation of right front power window switch. If right front power window is inoperative, go to next step. If right front power window is not inoperative, diagnose intermittent concern. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
  3. If right front power window is inoperative from right front power window switch only, go to next step. If right front power window is inoperative from master power window switch and right front power window switch, go to step  5 .
  4. Disconnect right front power window switch harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and right front power window switch harness connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/White wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step  7 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  12 .
  5. While lifting right front power window switch in UP position, measure voltage between ground and right front power window switch harness connector by backprobing terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire). While pressing right front power window switch in DOWN position, measure voltage between ground and right front power window switch harness connector by backprobing terminal No. 4 (Red/Black wire). If battery voltage does not exist at both terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage exists at both terminals, go to step  7 .
  6. While lifting master power window switch in UP position, measure voltage between ground and master power window switch harness connector by backprobing terminal No. 7 (Green/Black wire). While pressing master power window switch in DOWN position, measure voltage between ground and master power window switch harness connector by backprobing terminal No. 6 (Red/Black wire). See Figure . If battery voltage exists at both terminals, go to step  9 . If battery voltage does not exist at both terminals, go to step  14 .
  7. Turn ignition switch to lock position. Disconnect right front power window harness connector. Measure resistance between terminals No. 4 and 5, and between terminals No. 1 and 2 at right front power window switch with switch in NEUTRAL position. Measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and 5 at right front power window switch with switch in DOWN position and between terminals No. 2 and 3 at right front power window switch with switch in UP position. If resistance is less than 2 ohms for any test, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or more for any test, go to step  10 .
  8. NOTE: Wire colors change between left front power window motor and master power window switch.
  9. Disconnect master power window switch 11-pin harness connector. Disconnect right front power window 2-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between right front power window switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (Yellow wire) and right front power window motor harness connector terminal No. 1 (Green/Yellow wire). Measure resistance between right front power window switch harness connector terminal No. 5 (Red wire) and right front power window motor harness connector terminal No. 2 (Red/Blue wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step  11 . If resistance is 2 ohms or more, go to step  13 .
  10. Inspect master power window switch harness connector for poor connections or intermittent condition. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If concern still exists, go to step  16 . After repair, go to step  18 .
  11. Inspect right front power window switch harness connector for poor connections or intermittent condition. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If concern still exists, go to step  15 . After repair, go to step  18 .
  12. Inspect right front power window motor harness connector for poor connections or intermittent condition. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. If concern still exists, go to step  17 . After repair, go to step  18 .
  13. Repair open in Blue/White wire between right front window switch and junction block. After repair, go to step  18 .
  14. Repair open in appropriate wire between right front power window switch and right front power window motor. After repair, go to step  18 .
  15. Repair open in appropriate wire between master power window switch and right front power window switch. After repair, go to step  18 .
  16. Replace right front power window switch. After repair, go to step  18 .
  17. Replace master power window switch. After repair, go to step  18 .
  18. Replace right front power window motor. After repair, go to next step.
  19. Operate system to verify repair. If concern does not exist, system is okay. If concern still exists, go to step  3 .
