Window Motor: Removal

  1. Remove front door trim panel.
  2. Remove front door water deflector.
  3. Apply cloth backed body tape from window over top of door to other side of window to hold window in position when removing regulator.
  4. Remove power window regulator from door. See Fig 1 .
  5. Remove wiring harness from power window regulator motor.
    6. NOTE: Draw a line through center of counterbalance spring with a marker or grease pencil in order to aid in re-installation and orientation of counterbalance spring.
  6. Use Counterbalance Spring Removal and Installation Tool (J-38864) to walk down spring tension.
  7. To remove power window motor from lock module, unsnap power window motor. See Fig 2 .
