Shift Lock Solenoid Control Module: Installation

1. Install the shift lock solenoid control module (1) to the gearshift selector. Install the electrical connector (2) to the shift lock solenoid control module. Install the shift lock solenoid and the shift lock switch assembly electrical connectors (2, 3) to the shift lock solenoid. See Fig 3 .
   NOTE: Upon the completion of the shift lock solenoid control module installation, perform the following steps in order to ensure proper operation:

   • Temporarily install the negative battery cable.
   • When the ignition switch is turned to LOCK position, the solenoid is NOT energized.
   • When the ignition switch is turned to ON position, and the brake pedal is depressed, the solenoid is energized.
   • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Install the shift lock solenoid and the shift lock switch assembly electrical connectors (2, 3) to the shift lock switch assembly. Reposition the shift indicator to its original position. Install the 4 screws to the shift indicator.
3. Install the shift indicator bulb (1) into the shift indicator (2). See Fig 1 . Install the floor consoles. Install the negative battery cable.
