Park/Neutral Position Switch
NOTE:
For Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch DTC information see appropriate DIAGNOSIS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch harness connector. Switch is located on transaxle. Using DVOM, check for continuity between specified terminals in accordance with shift lever position. Ensure there is no continuity to ground, or to any other terminals. See PNP SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS (3-SPEED A/T) table or PNP SWITCH CONTINUITY SPECIFICATIONS (4-SPEED A/T) table . See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Replace PNP switch if defective.
