Hard Start: Sensor/System

A variety of sensor or physical conditions may result in a hard start condition without setting a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). To determine if any of these conditions exist, perform the following:

1. Compare scan tool data to a known good vehicle or refer to Scan Tool Data List.
2. Check exhaust system for possible restrictions.
   • Inspect exhaust system for damaged or collapsed pipes.
   • Inspect mufflers for heat distress or possible internal failure.
