Connect Procedure

Verify that all electrical components are off such as interior lights, the underhood lamp, etc.
Clean any corrosion from the negative battery cable using a wire brush.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten: Tighten the cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

Install the rear battery cover (2) and nuts (1).
Tighten: Tighten nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Lower the vehicle.
Reset the radio presets and theft codes.
