Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Locating Fuel Tank Fittings

  1. Install the fuel feed, return, and/or EVAP pipe that was to be replaced.
  2. Install the fuel line bundle retaining clips.
  3. Install the fuel line bundle.
  4. Cap the rear fuel lines.
  5. Connect the fuel line to the fuel filter. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  6. Connect the fuel feed and return lines to the rear fuel feed and return lines. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .

  8. Install the fuel lines to the retaining clips (1) on the transmission.

  10. Install the fuel pipe bracket to the bellhousing stud.
  11. Install the fuel pipe bracket nut (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Remove the caps from the fuel rail pipes.
  14. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes (1) to the fuel rail. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  15. Install the fuel fill cap.
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  17. Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
