Diagnostic Procedures
- Drain fuel tank
- Remove fuel tank.
- Plug fuel feed hose, fuel return pipe and fuel vapor pipe on fuel tank.
- Plug fuel filler neck opening.
- Connect a piece of the hose to the breather hose nipple on the fuel tank and secure with one clamp.
- Submerge fuel tank in water or apply a soapy solution to the outside of tank.
- Apply 1-2 psi (7-15 kPa) air pressure to breather hose.
- Air bubbles appearing from fuel tank indicate a leak.
- Replace fuel tank if tank is leaking.
