Installation Procedure
- Position the power steering gear (1) on the vehicle.
- Install the mounting power steering gear bolts (2) to the frame (3).
Tighten: Tighten the mounting bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).
- Install the power steering hoses to the steering gear. Refer to the following procedures:
- Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement in Front Suspension.
- Install the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
- Install the tie rod ends to the steering knuckle. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .
- Install the stabilizer shaft links to the control arms. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement in Front Suspension.
- Install the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Bleed the air from the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
- Align the front wheels. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in Wheel Alignment.
