Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft links from the control arms. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement in Front Suspension.
  4. Remove the tie rod ends from the steering knuckle. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .
  5. Remove the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement in Front Suspension.
  8. Remove the power steering hoses from the from the power steering gear. Refer to the following procedures:
  9. Remove the power steering gear bolts (2) from the frame (3).
  10. Remove the power steering gear (1) through the left wheel opening.
