Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  2. Remove the boost control solenoid. Refer to Boost Control Solenoid Replacement .
  3. Remove the vacuum hoses from the bypass actuator.
  4. Remove the bypass valve actuator mounting bolts and rotate the bypass valve actuator until the rod disengages the lever.
