Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the power steering pump, if equipped. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (Gasoline Engine) .
  3. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear A/C compressor mounting bracket bolts and the rear A/C compressor mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the accessory mounting bracket by removing the bolts.

  7. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor connector.
  8. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt.
  9. Gently rotate and remove the CKP sensor from the engine block.
