Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector.
  3. Disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover.
  4. Remove the air intake tube.

  6. Disconnect the throttle cables by opening the throttle and moving the cable through the release slot.
  7. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle body.
  8. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor and the idle air control (IAC) valve connectors.
  9. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
  10. Remove the throttle body retaining nuts.

    NOTE: Mask off the ports to the intake manifold spacer. Failure to mask off the ports may allow foreign objects to enter the engine resulting in severe damage to the engine.
  12. Remove the throttle body and discard the gasket.
  13. Remove the TP sensor. Refer to Throttle Position Sensor Replacement .
  14. Remove the IAC valve. Refer to Idle Air Control Valve Replacement .
