Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: View Of Outer And Inner Tie Rod

  1. Reposition the adjusting nut to the marks on the inner tie rod.
  2. Install the outer tie rod by twisting it onto the inner tie rod.

  4. Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.
  5. Perform a front toe adjustment. Refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment .
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  7. Install the adjusting nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the outer adjusting nut to 64 N.m (47 lb ft)  .

  8. Install the outer tie rod nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the outer tie rod nut to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)  .

  9. Install the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
