Installation Procedure

  1. Install the electrical center base to the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the nuts retaining the electrical center base to the console bracket studs.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

  4. Install all the block connectors including (1, 2) to the electrical center base.

    Ensure the connectors are fully seated.

  6. Install the electrical center to the base ensuring the 4 retaining tabs are fully seated.

  8. Install the nut (4) retaining the positive battery terminal to the electrical center.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

  9. Tighten bolts (1, 2, 3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).

  11. Install the connector (1) to the electrical center.

  13. Push the sliding latch (1) upward until fully seated, approximately 40 mm (1.6 in).
  14. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  15. Move the passenger seat fully rearward.
  16. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  17. Install the rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Upper in Interior Trim.
  18. Close the folding top.
