Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Install the surge tank.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the bolt to the surge tank.
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Install the nut to the surge tank.
Tighten

Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Install the surge tank outlet hose (2) to the surge tank.
Position the surge tank outlet hose clamp.

Install the surge tank inlet hose (1) to the surge tank.
Position the surge tank inlet hose clamp.

Connect the low coolant level switch electrical connector (3).

Install the surge tank overflow hose.
Install the air cleaner assembly.
Fill the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
