Installation Procedure

  1. Install the PCM bracket (2) underneath the instrument panel.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Secure the PCM bracket (2) with the 4 bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the PCM bracket bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the PCM (4) into the PCM bracket (2).
  5. Secure the PCM to the PCM bracket with the 2 bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the PCM retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Connect the PCM electrical connectors as follows:
    • Connect the four PCM electrical connectors on vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission.
    • Connect the three PCM electrical connectors on vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.

  7. Install the PCM cover (1) and secure with the two plastic retainers.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Program the PCM before starting the engine and operating the vehicle. Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Programming .
