Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the intake air inlet duct from the throttle body.
  2. Remove the breather hose (1) from the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the throttle position (TP) sensor.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the idle air control (IAC) valve.
  5. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.

  7. Disconnect the lower coolant line (1) from the throttle body.
  8. Disconnect the upper coolant line (2) from the throttle body.

  10. Disconnect the accelerator control cable (1) from the throttle body by rotating the throttle lever (3) to wide open throttle (WOT) and removing the cable end from the slot.
  11. Disconnect the A/T throttle cable (2), if necessary, from the throttle body throttle lever (3) by removing the cable end from the throttle lever slot.

  13. Remove the two nuts and/or 2 bolts (1) from the throttle body.
  14. Remove the throttle body (2) and the gasket (3) from the intake manifold (4).
  15. Clean any throttle body gasket material (2) that remains on the intake manifold (1).
