Installation Procedure

  1. Check for the correct spark plug gap and adjust as necessary. Refer to Ignition System Specifications .
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the spark plugs (3) into the cylinder head.

    Tighten:  Tighten the spark plug to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the ignition coil (2) to each spark plug and secure with the bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the ignition coil bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the ignition coil electrical connectors.

  5. Install the ignition coil cover (2) to the valve cover (1).
  6. Secure the ignition coil cover (2) with the two fasteners.

    Tighten:  Tighten the two fasteners to 3 N.m (26 lb in).
