Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil before installation.
  1. Install the small O-ring into the fuel rail (1).
  2. Install the large O-ring into the fuel rail.

  4. Install the fuel pressure regulator taking care not to disturb the O-rings.
  5. Install the fuel pressure regulator retaining bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  6. Connect the vacuum pipe to the fuel pressure regulator.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  8. Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
    1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn ON the ignition.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
  9. Place the shop towel into a suitable storage container.
