Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump (1) to the engine.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pump bolts (2) to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering hoses to the power steering pump (1). Refer to the following procedures:
  4. Install the EVAP canister purge valve.
  5. Install the upper air cleaner and duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L (L61).
  6. Fill the power steering pump with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  7. Bleed the air from the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
