Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: View Of Generator, Lower Bracket And Bolt

  1. Install the generator to the lower bracket with the bolts.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the nut and the washer on the lower bracket-to-generator bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the lower bracket-to-generator nut to 35 N.m (26 lb ft)  .

  4. Install the generator and the lower support bracket assembly to the engine block with the bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator lower bracket-to-engine block bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft)  .

  6. Lower the vehicle and install the generator-to-intake manifold and cylinder head support bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator-to-intake manifold and cylinder head support bracket bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft)  .

  7. Install the generator-to-intake manifold strap bracket bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the generator-to-intake manifold strap bracket bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)  .

  9. Connect the harness connector to the back of the generator.
  10. Connect the battery lead to the generator and install the nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery-to-generator lead to 15 N.m (11 lb ft)  .

  12. Install the serpentine accessory drive belt. Refer to Power Steering Pump Drive Belt Replacement (2.0L) in Power Steering System.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
