Removal Procedure

- Open the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door.
- Remove the I/P compartment lamp assembly by pulling on the lamp plunger.
- Disconnect the lamp wiring harness from the I/P compartment.
- Remove the lower closeout panel from the right side of the I/P.
- Pull the closeout panel rearward to detach the panel from the retainers.
- Remove the retainer from the heater outlet assembly on the right side and remove the outlet.
- Remove the I/P compartment door. Refer to Door Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Compartment in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the I/P compartment bin fasteners.
- Slowly remove the I/P compartment bin, tilting the bin downward, to expose the BCM residing on the top of the I/P compartment.
- Remove the BCM module from the I/P compartment by sliding the module out of the attaching slots.
- Remove the BCM harness connectors.
IMPORTANT:
After replacement of the body control module (BCM), programming is required.
